I first met Ryan as a freshman on campus while I was working in admissions. Immediately, he was polite and mature for his age. When searching for ambassadors for AB to represent the student body for tours, etc.
Ryan was one of the first people I thought of, as his boss I saw Ryan exceed all expectation and excelled not only as a leader on the field but in the classroom as well. Constantly representing true black excellence everywhere he went, Ryan is the leader our world needs.

What is your major?
My major is Middle School Education in Mathematics with a minor in Mathematics. I am certified to teach grades 5-9 up to Algebra 1
Why did you choose that major?
I chose my major because I enjoyed working with kids. Back home (Pickerington, OH) there wasn’t a lot of black male educators. I wanted to be able to be an inspiration to students who look like me so I sought out to be that inspiration.
Why AB?
I chose AB because they offered me a football scholarship to come and play for them. On my first visit I fell in love with the campus and knew this was the place I will be attending.

Plans after graduation?
After AB I will be teaching 9th Grade Algebra 1 at Westerville South High School in Ohio! I I will also be coaching High School football at my former High School (Pickerington High School North).
Favorite memory in college?
My favorite memory at AB is the day/night of the Spring Game of 2019! The game was fun and the campus supported it as well. It was one of the few moments in which student population came out and enjoyed the festivities and made the most of the night.
When I visited him last week he was absolutely beaming with confidence. Seeing him acheive all of his goals in such a short amount of time was such an amazing thing to see. I was honored to take his photos. I am very proud of you, I can’t wait to see what you will achieve!
